Help the Dougies get to Arnhem Land
Donation protected
Hi i am Mel, Amanda's sister.
As many of you know Amanda and Phil took off on a God called mission and began their journey to Arnhem land approx 4 weeks ago. Arriving in Broken Hill with the South Australian border in site their trip was stopped. The South Australian government had just added in a new rule that people coming across their border were no longer allowed without a health exemption. Unfortunately Amanda and Phil were only 1 day late before this was established. So they applied with the hope that they would all get the approval and be able to travel through into the Northern Territory.... considering they were on the road because they were moving, they all had there jabs and covid test were all negative the hope was that this exemption would get the all clear!!! Fast track 4 weeks on and after staying on a Sheep Station in the wait they received their answer and were denied entry and headed back to Sydney....
So what is the next step... The next step is and will be to fly out to Darwin in 2 days.... that bit is exciting but along with that decision has come some obstacles... They will no longer be able to take their 4wd & trailer (so no car), Phils work tools, the kids bikes will all have to stay behind. I know they will deal with it as the days up there unfold.
I just felt on my heart to bless them. They have booked their flights and they are all paid for thanks to a credit card! But how cool would it be if we all chipped in and raised the money to cover their flights!
No pressure what so ever but if you want to chip in that would be really cool.
Big love to you all, Mel
