Help the Donkor Family Through an Unexpected Hardship

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Marko Krstic, a fellow Harrison Ranch resident. Many of us have known the Donkor family for years, and when we learned how suddenly their livelihood was disrupted, I felt moved to help. This fundraiser is simply neighbors supporting neighbors during a tough moment.

A Harrison Ranch family needs our help.

On the night of the recent HOA election on November 20, an unexpected and upsetting incident unfolded involving a member of the Donkor family. What should have been a simple community event became confusing and emotional for everyone present — especially one of their daughters, who was shaken after another attendee made physical contact with her during a tense moment.

In the days that followed, things became even harder.

As a result of how the situation was interpreted, the family was suspended from using community amenities just two weeks before Christmas — including the tennis courts where both parents earn part of their income by giving lessons. This abrupt loss affects not only their access to amenities, but also their ability to work and support their children during what should be a joyful time of year.

The Donkors are a kind, hardworking family who have poured more than a decade of service into this community. They coach, they volunteer, they run a charitable foundation for underprivileged youth, they encourage kids, and they’ve made the Harrison Ranch tennis courts a place of growth, confidence, and connection for so many residents. And right now, they’re hurting — emotionally, financially, and personally — in a way no family ever expects.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the confusion that night, one thing is absolutely clear:

No family should suddenly lose access to their income or stability while a process plays out — especially not right before the holidays.

This GoFundMe is meant to give them:

• a financial cushion to replace lost income from canceled tennis lessons
• help with legal or advisory expenses if they choose to seek guidance
• room to breathe and regain stability while the situation resolves
• a message from the community that they are not alone

Every contribution, no matter the size, sends a powerful message:

We take care of each other in Harrison Ranch.
We support families going through a difficult time.
We stand with our neighbors when unexpected events turn their lives upside down.

Please consider donating and sharing.

Let’s give the Donkor family the stability, compassion, and solidarity all neighbors deserve — especially at Christmas.

Every dollar raised through this campaign will go straight to the Donkor family. No funds will be kept, redirected, or used for any other purpose.

Thank you for helping lift up one of our own.

FAQ: About the Donkors’ Coaching in Harrison Ranch

How long have the Donkors been coaching here?
They have been coaching on the Harrison Ranch tennis courts since 2013 — more than a decade of consistent service to residents.

Do they have permission to use the courts for lessons?
Yes. They have a formal agreement and have always complied with court-use requirements.

Do they pay fees?
Yes.
They pay a small fee to the CDD when teaching non-residents, submitted directly to CDD staff and in line with staff direction. When teaching Harrison Ranch residents, no fee is required.

Are the courts being blocked off for lessons?
No. The courts at Harrison Ranch are first-come, first-served and cannot be booked.
In practice, both courts are rarely in use simultaneously, and the Donkors coach in a way that keeps the courts available and accessible to everyone.

Do they carry insurance?
Yes. They maintain a $5 million liability insurance policy that specifically names the Harrison Ranch Community Development District as an insured party.

Do they use waivers?
Yes. Waivers are on file at the Clubhouse.

Why does this matter?
Because their coaching has always been done properly, transparently, insured, and with community benefit in mind — helping kids, supporting families, encouraging healthy activity, and enriching life in Harrison Ranch.
