Imagine losing your comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood, all your possessions, and everything you know and love. This is the reality for Akram, my colleague and friend - a gifted software developer and a devoted father of 5, now a refugee in Southern Gaza. On October 7th, the war turned his world upside down, forcing him to flee to the South with his wife, and 13 young children - 5 of his own and 7 of his brothers. They lost their homes, their security, and all normality.

Today, Akram's challenges are immense. He is sheltered in a tent with his family, facing the stark reality of a refugee’s life. Each day is a struggle for him to feed his family and help those around him. My company continues to pay his modest salary, transferring funds to his bank, but he is trying to help many more families who are struggling for the most basic necessities - food, water, and shelter.

Donating to this fund will allow me to transfer additional funds into Akram's bank so that Akram can help support other families in the camp. Despite his own challenges, he wants to do all he can to provide relief, hope, and a semblance of normalcy to these lives touched by conflict.
