Help the Disabled Advocate Get Back to Advocating!

I spent from June of 2023 to April of 2024 considered "temporarily but completely disabled" and unable to work. Due to my young age, medical complexity, dearth of financial resources, and lack local social supports, I slipped through many cracks in the American healthcare system. I'm a law school graduate with a Concentration in Health Law and a background in disability rights, who became disabled before being able to take the bar exam in my jurisdiction. My training helped me navigate the cracks in the healthcare system enough to stay alive and advocate for myself long enough to regain functionality. However, due to the crushing weight of medical debt, it's looking like I'm going to have to postpone the bar exam again to focus on paying medical bills.

I sought medical debt relief and forgiveness wherever I could, and what was originally looking like over $80,000 of bills is now down to $5,358.
