Help the Dimarco's Rebuild Their Lives after Fire

Hi. I'm Paul Dimarco and my brother, his wife, my 2 nephews, niece and my brother's elderly mother-in-law were the victims of the Colorado fires of December 30, 2021.

 

While their rental home was one of only a handful spared, there is significant smoke damage. There is no timeframe for restoring power and gas. So they are displaced as the area is deemed inhabitable and being assessed to determine whether they will remediate or possibly condemn. They are not able to live there nor take out any belongings--including clothes--because they are contaminated with toxins from the fire.

 

My brother has been supporting his family through his business in Colorado which has been suffering with its own set-backs due to the global pandemic. This is truly the worst timing for something of this financial magnitude to hit them. We are a proud family who are more used to giving than receiving. It is truly a humbling experience for them and it is why I am leading this effort to get them the necessary funds to provide them the ability to urgently find safe housing and the stability necessary while they mobilize to try and rise above this.

 

If this was an isolated incident we would not be needing to ask for help. But the fact that insurance companies and local and federal resources are inundated with the over 35,000 people displaced from this tragedy, they are unable to access the assistance they need within a crucial time to secure safe housing for his family as well as his youngest daughter and elderly mother-in-law.

 

This fire burned through 6,219 acres and destroyed many neighborhoods and businesses. At last count roughly 1,000 homes were burned to the ground and hundreds of others sustained smoke or fire damage.

 

I am asking you to please consider helping my family by contributing any amount you can and sharing this with your friends and family.
