Help the DeSarios & Hoopes' Recover After Fire
Donation protected
I’m Cessa DeSario, and on Jan 7th, my dad, Mathew DeSario, and his partner, Alexis Hoopes, tragically lost their home in Altadena to the Eaton Fire.
We moved into his house this October and it was the first time our families joined together in a new house. My dad, Lyla (my sister) and I moved there from Glendale and Alexis and Eleanor moved from Santa Monica. It was a big change for all of us, but we had a lot of fun being together. It is crazy to think we only had 3 short months of living together in a house we all thought was incredible (it even had a historic organ and orange trees we made fresh juice with).
So many friends are reaching out to Matthew and Alexis asking how they can help. They have been overwhelmed by so much support from so many people. We put a list together of things we need immediately but we don’t have anywhere to store things so can’t take a lot.
I thought it would be helpful to put a Go Fund Me together for them so everyone who wants to help can. I know they feel very uncomfortable taking money and feel more comfortable if I let people know that any funds they don’t use will be given to help the Altadena community rebuild.
This feels like something nice I can do to help my family and give others a way to help too. We really appreciate each and every one of you.
