On Friday June 11, 2021 at 5:40AM, Miranda gave birth to her first child Oliver, weighing 4 pounds 14.5 ounces.  Unfortunately, Oliver is expected to stay in the newborn intensive care unit for some time to make sure he is receiving around the clock best possible care since he is premature.

On May 23, 2021 Miranda was diagnosed with covid. Just hours after her baby shower. On June 09, 2021 Miranda went to the emergency room due to experiencing bleeding, cramps and possibly that her water might have broke. She was told she was 1cm dilated but to return home and take it easy! The next day June 10, 2021 Scott took Miranda back to the hospital due to her being unable to swallow, walk, or feel certain parts of her body, after many tests she was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome(GBS). GBS is a very rare. A condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves often caused by a virus.  At that moment, she was put on a ventilator! After a very restless night Miranda delivered her first child with every ounce of strength she had left in her body, no medicine to ease the pain, and on a ventilator the entire time. She pushed and pushed until her son finally arrived, she used every bit of energy she had left! Talk about already becoming a very strong and wonderful mother! Miranda is awake and able to communicate by writing on a dry erase board. The doctors and staff are doing everything they can do get Miranda back to her normal joyful self. Unfortunately, in order for Miranda to get the best care she can and fully recover she will be in the hospital for a while.

Could you even imagine trying for months and months to have you’re first child and this happening to you and your family? 

Scott and Miranda are very wonderful people and are always one to help anyone and everyone out! Miranda will be out of work for a very long time. Unfortunately, bills are still going to be rolling in. Scott went back to work today June 14, 2021 in order to try to support his family the most he can through this very difficult time!
