The Denwalt family is facing an unexpected and heartbreaking challenge. Their eldest son recently received a serious cancer diagnosis—news that came just as he was preparing to enter the Golden Gloves boxing camp, a moment that should have marked excitement and opportunity.
With this sudden turn, the family has had to make incredibly difficult decisions. They’ve begun rehoming and relocating several beloved family pets and selling many of their household belongings as they prepare for an urgent move from Alaska back to Oklahoma. There, they will have the support of extended family as their son begins treatment immediately. The Denwalts are preparing to leave Alaska this Saturday.
As many of us know, a medical crisis brings not only emotional strain but also overwhelming and unexpected financial burdens. Travel costs, temporary housing, medical expenses, and the loss of income all add up quickly. Our small community has always stepped up in times of need, and now we’re “passing the hat” to help ease some of the weight this family is carrying.
If you’re able, please consider contributing. Every donation—no matter the size—helps the Denwalts focus on what matters most: supporting their son through treatment and giving him the best chance at recovery.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers for this family during an unimaginably difficult time
