Help the Denny Family

Meet Peyton Grace.  Peyton is a vibrant, kind-hearted 11 year old who loves cheerleading, animals of all kinds, and playing with her friends. When Peyton was 5 years old she was diagnosed with a Neurogenic Bladder, which was caused by damage from an arachnoid cyst.  While the surgery to remove the cyst from her spine was successful, the nerve function affecting her bladder and bowel systems did not return to normal causing Peyton to suffer daily. Unlike you and I, Peyton is unable to use the bathroom without assistance. She has had several surgeries; multiple hospital stays for UTI’s, bladder infections, and bowel blockages. For six years now Peyton has endured more than any young child should. Due to frequent infections, Peyton has not been able to participate in the activities that she enjoys and has missed several days of school. Peyton suffers with reflux so bad, that over time it has caused kidney damage to her left kidney, resulting in stage 4-kidney disease. This leaves her left kidney only functioning at 30-40%. Physicians have determined the best of course of action is further surgical intervention. On March 5, 2019 Peyton will have a bladder augmentation to try to save her kidney. Since Peyton’s bladder is smaller than the size of a five year old, doctors are confident that building her a bigger bladder will increase her quality of life and save her kidneys. In order to do so, the doctors will be removing part of Peyton’s small intestine to build her an adult bladder. Surgery will last approximately 6-8 hours, leaving her in the hospital for at least a week and unable to return to school for 6 weeks. Although Peyton will still struggle daily, we are hoping this will improve her kidney function and limit the number of UTI’s and bladder infections.

We have created this GoFund me in order to support the Denny Family. Janie and Wade will miss a lot of work in order to be there for Peyton during the incredibly difficult time. For 6 years now, they have been faced with more medical bills than they are able to pay with this being biggest of them all. Please help us support this family and donate whatever you can.
