The DeLongs are a lovely couple who have been fighting health issues for many years. Nadia lost her right arm at the elbow at the age of 15 as the result of being shot accidentally with a 12-gauge shotgun. She never allowed that injury to slow her down in any way. Those who know her say she gives better hugs with one arm than most people do with two. In 1999, the rotator cuff in her left (good) arm tore repeatedly and had to be surgically repaired four times. As a result, the use of her good arm is extremely limited. Doctors will no longer allow her to work or lift anything over five pounds.

In 1998, Bruce was diagnosed with a rare type of pancreatic tumor which causes pain and extreme weakness after eating, at times even causing him to pass out. It makes no difference how much or what he eats. His doctors have referred him to the Mayo Clinic, but finances prohibit this.

Medical expenses and not being able to work have devastated the DeLongs financially. They have lost almost everything.

The home they have been renting was just sold, and they were given two months to find a new place to live. They are trying very hard to find something they can afford. They are hoping to make a substantial down payment on a used mobile home and be able to get Bruce back and forth to the Mayo Clinic for answers and help so he can work again and be able to support his family.

These two fine people are my parents and I can honestly say that I couldn't have asked for a better mother and father. They mean the world to me and I'm doing everything I can to help them and hope that this gofundme will help support them in their struggle as well.
