On behalf of my mother, Terrilyn Delacruz, I am starting this GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and financial assistance after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my stepfather, Romel Delacruz Sr.

Romel was one of the kindest, most selfless men you could ever meet. He dedicated his life to providing for his family and worked tirelessly, even after being diagnosed with COPD. No matter how difficult his condition became, he continued to put his wife, children, and grandchildren first. Through countless hospitalizations and health struggles, he never stopped fighting and never took any handouts. He believed in hard work and always being present.

On May 6th at around 3:00 a.m., our family woke to another medical emergency after he suddenly collapsed. First responders did everything they could, and he was rushed to the ICU where he remained for several days undergoing multiple tests and treatments.

Sadly, we were later informed that he had no brain activity and would not be able to live without complete dependence on machines. It’s the hardest news our family has ever had to face.

Romel was the main provider for our family, and his passing has left an emotional and financial burden that we are struggling to carry. During this painful time, we are simply asking for help so my mother, brothers, and sisters can focus on grieving, healing, and honoring his life without the overwhelming stress of funeral costs and immediate financial hardship.
