Pastor John Summers says that God gave him the gift of a deaf son to give him a heart for those in 3rd world countries without hearing.
He felt compelled to take some extra hearing aids his son had lying around to Haiti and that initial trip sparked many more along with the creation of a deaf school that has expanded from 1 teacher and 1 student to 60 students and counting.
Donald who is mentioned in the video had a whole new world open up to him when hearing aids were placed on his ears and he could finally hear for the first time.
However, a difficult reality is that the government in Haiti doesn't provide provisions for the deaf and they are often seen as demon possesed and marginalized. It takes something from the outside to interrupt the otherwise bleak future in front of these kids.
A Place of Hope in Haiti has committed itself to providing a foundation upon which a deaf child can build a new future that was previously inaccessible to them and we have a unique opportunity to contribute to their vision of expansion.
We can play a part in the continued transform of the lives of not just deaf children but the blind as well.
I strongly encourage you to consider giving a gift of financial support to a Place of Hope which is a fully qualified 501c organization where all gifts are tax exempt.
There is nothing more powerful than coming together as a community to help others reach their potential. We will be able to look back on our lives and say we contributed. We made a difference. We mattered.
Thank you in for your consideration. Every gift matters and makes a bigger impact than you might realize.
Love,
Chris@PursuitofPossibility
