Hello Dear Friends,
My name is Linda Sarine. I’m reaching out to help a family, childhood sweethearts, that are going through a very tough time right now.
This has been a heartbreaking and exhausting year for so many. Hurricanes, floods, and fires have destroyed so much. We try to help where we can, but the help that is needed can be more than we can wrap our heads around sometimes.
And then there are all the other traumas in our lives that make it difficult to focus on the outside world. This is the dilemma that brings me here today.
A few years ago, I came with hat in hand asking for help for a family member. Friends and family stepped up and extended such generous support. Today I’m asking again, but this time for adopted family. Family that becomes part of your world over time because of the type of people they are.
My son Andrew has such friends. He has worked beside them and lived beside them. He has watched their children grow and shared so many aspects of their life with them.
But now tragedy has struck, and he doesn’t know how to help, which is what we all want to do when family comes to a brick wall. In visiting him last week, we learned of the trauma this family is going through. While not the same trauma that’s been going on across this country, it is their trauma just as real and just as painful.
Gary and Angie De Lisle are some of the hardest working people my son knows. They would give you the shirt off their back, even if it was their last article of clothing. They have been handed a cross to bear that so many families have had to carry. Gary has been diagnosed with cancer. Because of treatment and doctor visits, he is on disability, partial income. While it is a blessing that the company has said they will hold his position for now, they are really hit with this loss of income. And last week, because of having to take her husband to all of the appointments and treatments, his wife, Angie, was dismissed from her job. This leaves them in quite the dilemma because while Gary has partial insurance for now, Angie and her 15-year-old son, who has a severe staph infection, are left with no insurance. They are also left with no income, and while Angie is searching for a job, bills need to be paid now as well as co-pays for Gary.
It’s been a hard year for everyone. But if you can see your way to help this lovely family, it would be so appreciated. As with all the tragedies, if we all help a little, the journey is so much easier.
Thank you all for reading and if you are unable to financially help, please pray for this little family. Thank you and God Bless.
