Christopher Day was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday January 13th 2021 with gall stones. Further investigation revealed he has cancer of the bile duct, which has spread to other parts of his body. They have deemed it inoperable at this time.
The Days have faced many trials since November of 2019. Here is Megan's take on it, which she shared on January 14th:
"Hi friends and family! This past year has been a tough one for our family. We left Thousand Pines and moved to Texas to work at Camp Cho-Yeh. Just a month later, Covid lockdowns shut down business at Cho-Yeh, and camps everywhere. We initially lost our job, then got it back in hopes of a full fall season that never materialized, and we lost our job again in Sept. The Camp Cho-Yeh staff have been a great blessing– we are still living in a camp house! We trusted that God would provide for our next step but it's been a LONG waiting game.
Then, after weeks of back and abdomen pain we attributed to stress, Chris went to see the doctor yesterday. They told him to head to the ER where they diagnosed him with gall stones, with stones in the ducts. They were impressed with his pain tolerance! He was transferred to a larger hospital in Conroe, near Houston. He has had an MRI and will soon be scheduled for surgery to have the stones removed from his ducts. Sounds like they will then let the swelling go down and evaluate if they need to remove his gall bladder.
Christopher Day
is enjoying the generous rations of morphine, beef broth, and jello at the hospital, and is relieved that's there's a clear diagnosis to explain his pain. Please pray for his health and recovery through this process. Please pray that we see God's provision in the season ahead."
Let's come alongside them during this difficult time and help lessen the financial burden of these unforeseen circumstances by donating to this cause.
