Unfortunate Medical Incident
Hello Everyone, My Name is Andrew, but most know me as AJ or online on social media and PlayStation/Xbox as Gizmo77_xx. I'm 19 years old, living with Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety. I live at home with my parents, Barb and Buddy, which most know either as Barbie and Bird or Mom and Dad. I also live with my little brother Blake, which everyone thinks is my big brother, and my grandpa. I also live with our 8 loving balls of fur, our cats, and our 3 dogs. But anyways, to the story and reason I'm seeking help from my community and my friends and family.

For the last 4 months, I've been sick. Starting in late June, I got very sick and couldn't eat or drink anything; I would just vomit it all up. I went to the doctors about a week after the symptoms started, thinking it was just a normal stomach bug, but it turns out it wasn't. This would be the second time this has happened. The first time it happened was in 2022, which ultimately ended up making me withdraw from A-Tech Vocational School and Geneva High School my junior year. I took some time to get better from the illness that had me admitted to Cleveland Clinic for a night. They didn't do much, and none of my doctors could figure out what was wrong with me. But I got better and continued with my life.

Until late June 2025, when I got sick again. Like I explained, I got sick again with the vomiting and couldn't eat or drink. So I was stuck in bed, vomiting at least 10 times a day. I slowly started drinking and eating small bites every day. Until I eventually started gaining energy. By the time I started eating again, I had lost 50 lbs, going from 250 lbs to around 204 lbs, which took a toll on my body that I didn't want. Yes, I wanted to lose a few pounds, but not my strength and muscles as well. I went from walking to walking with a walker to not being able to get out of bed. When I got to the stage of not being able to walk or get out of bed or feel my legs, I missed my brother's graduation and my 19th birthday.

On the 28th of August, I got admitted to Hillcrest Hospital, where they gave me fluids and vitamins and all that good stuff because I was so malnourished due to not being able to eat. Sadly, they tried to address my stomach issue but not the issue my primary doctor sent me there for in the first place, which was to have neurology see me for not being able to walk or feel my legs. So they sent me home 4 days later, not being able to walk or stand up at all. They carried me from my bed to a wheelchair out of the hospital. Hillcrest Hospital also forgot to mention anything about sending me to rehab. They also didn't give me any of my medications for my ADHD and Anxiety. So the whole time, I was freaking out, wanting my parents to be by my side, and started developing some depression during this time. I also started losing motion in my hands/fingers and wrists and also lost feeling in these limbs.

Which brings us to now. I've finally seen a neurologist who has done an EMG and lots of blood work, and I need to go get MRIs to check my brain, neck, spinal cord, and back. During these rough times, my dad is disabled and gets only $1500 a month, and my mom has had to stop working completely to take care of me. We are on food stamps and only get $380 a month, and that only gets us 4 meals for the month, which isn't anything. And my dad's Social Security check can only afford half of the bills we need to pay to live. We have been struggling to make ends meet for the past 4 months and can't afford to pay for some of the medications I need to be comfortable and personal/household amenities needed to have a functioning household. We can't afford to feed us, not considering our fur babies we love soooooo much and don't want to give up. Our pets are the glue to our family, and we can't afford the constant 45+ minute trips back and forth to the hospitals and food when we go that far.

If you could kindly help and support me and my family, it would be much appreciated. We hope to hit our goal to get caught up on bills and get the needs we need for our family.

Thank you,

Andrew or AJ or to some Gizmo
Love you all
