Help Us Rise from the Wreck: Rebuilding After Our Dream Houseboat Sank
Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
Last year, we poured our hearts, savings, and countless hours into what was supposed to be our dream houseboat and business asset—a beautiful houseboat we bought with big dreams. We were so excited to turn it into a floating sanctuary for our family and a unique rental space for others to enjoy the water life we love so much.
We purchased the boat and immediately began renovations. It was truly a labor of love. We worked side-by-side every weekend and evening, sanding, painting, wiring, and designing every detail ourselves. We also hired skilled contractors for the more technical work to make sure everything was done right. The boat was finally starting to feel like home… until we got the devastating phone call.
The boat was sinking. By the time we reached the marina, it was too late. Despite our desperate efforts, we couldn’t save her. What we thought would be our future became a total loss in a matter of hours.
Insurance only covered a small fraction of the boat’s value and nothing toward the renovations or our labor. All those months of hard work, materials, and contractor payments disappeared with the boat. We are still feeling the financial and emotional impact both personally and in our small business, and we have not been able to recover.

- Haul-Out (getting the boat to land): $7,500

Every dollar we raise will go directly toward recovery of paying these bills so we can finally close this painful chapter and begin to rebuild—whether that means getting back on the water someday or simply stabilizing our finances so we can move forward without this heavy burden.
