Dear Neighbors, Friends, and Community,

We are The Averres and The Meeker-Davis, neighbors and friends of Joe and Bridget Davis. On Monday, September 16, 2024, a devastating fire broke out in their home here in Garner. The fire, which started in the garage, spread quickly and destroyed not only the garage but also the first and second floors of their house. Thankfully, the family members are unharmed. The Davis family, a family of seven, has been left to rebuild their lives after this tragic event.

As their neighbors, we’ve seen firsthand the emotional toll this tragedy has taken on them. While they are deeply thankful for their safety, they’ve lost a great deal. The emotional weight of seeing their home, filled with memories, destroyed is heart-wrenching. While they have insurance to cover some recovery costs, the immediate challenges are overwhelming.

The Davis family has always been a pillar of strength in our neighborhood, and now it’s our turn to show them that they’re not alone. No contribution is too small—any amount will make a difference and help them move forward after this devastating loss.
