Help for the Davidson family

For the last 5 years we have battled with my my head, neck, kidney, and mouth cancers. I've been through radiation, chemo, immunotherapy, and multiple surgeries. Right now I am in remission, but it's all come with a high price. My wife has had her own health issues we have had to deal with as well. Our family needs help just to make it through another month.

I was forced to resign from my position back in February due to the issues I had stemming from the surgeries/chemo side effects. Since then, I've filed for unemployment benefits and for social security disability, which surprisingly I was approved. Doing so ONLY, to provide anything financially to help keep up on our bills.

I never gave up on trying to work, because I am still well enough to work. I am just limited in what I can do. I'm struggling to land the jobs after getting face-to-face interviews. I feel that employers are judging me more based on my appearance and how my speech sounds during interviews than the experience and knowledge that I have.

I have been trying all I know to keep us from going under and being homeless but, I have exhausted all of my unemployment benefits and any assistance that can be provided to us by the government/non-profit agencies. I have sold and pawned items. Most of those things, well below what they were worth.

This may come as a surprise to most our friends/family because we have tried to make our lives seem as normal as we could for outward appearances. We've tried to keep how bad it really has been from our kids even.

We decided that there is no other choice, but to set aside our fears of judgment and ask for help this way, making our situation known to everyone.

We will be homeless soon if we can't get some help. We received notice over the weekend so we are on borrowed time. If any of you can help in any small way our family would forever be greatful.
