Many of you may know Lauren and Travis Darnell, locals to Ashe County and the current owners of Hometown Flooring in West Jefferson, NC. Together they have five kids ranging from 5 to 19 years old. As many of you know Lauren and Travis help others as much as they can. Lauren is a very giving person and would help anyone who needed it. Recently, Lauren has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and a blockage in her left carotid artery. Her diagnosis was discovered after having a stroke and the right side of her body going numb. The aneurysm is very rare; only 3% of the world have it. The treatment plan for her rare diagnosis is extensive testing followed by a couple procedures to explain which surgeries will be necessary. There have already been to many unexpected doctor visits out of county with this treatment plan. Many trips to different locations will leave the family in an unexpected financial strain, which is already stressful. With Lauren's prior medical condition's the road to treatment has been rough. The Darnell Family is in complete shock as her diagnosis significantly strains their family, with Lauren being the primary caregiver for their children and Travis being the primary financial provider. Currently they have no medical insurance to help with the cost of the treatment plan. In this treatment plan, one possible option is to travel to Houston, Texas. This treatment has been quoted up to $300,000, not including minimum of 10 day recovery period. The Darnell family needs your help!
