My sister Dani is currently in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Children’s Hospital awaiting the arrival of their heart warrior, Jacob. At their 20-week anatomy scan, they had some life-altering news presented to them. Jacob was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and complex heart defect that affects the left side of his heart. This means that Jacob’s left ventricle, the main pumping chamber for the heart, is underdeveloped and cannot properly circulate oxygenated blood throughout his body. He will require several surgeries and time in the hospital.

During this time in the hospital, my sister's husband, Tim, will have to take time off from work to care for their first born son. Unfortunately, he just started his career as a nurse and hasn’t acquired enough time to be paid during his much-needed time off. That being said, I am asking to please help them have one less worry when their heart warrior arrives. These funds are meant to alleviate all bills coming their way, whether medical, life, housing, etc.
