The CyberKnights do more than just compete. We fund and run after-school LEGO League teams, teach free Girls Who Code courses, and coach robotics programs at the library. We also bring LEGO robotics to senior citizens, volunteer with veterans, and host STEM for All—a free day of hands-on STEM fun for the whole community.
Our goal is to have FIRST LEGO League teams in every school in Southington, so every student has the chance to discover STEM. But all of this takes funding—registration fees, robotics kits, materials, and supplies. The expenses are even greater for our high school FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team, where students design, build, and compete with full-scale industrial-style robots. Funds will be used to provide our students with hands-on STEM learning experiences, including purchasing new equipment, robotics parts, and software needed to teach relevant skills. Additional funds will support outreach programs, mentorship opportunities, and the creation of new FIRST LEGO League teams for local elementary and middle school students. Funds will also directly support our FRC students as they participate in the competition, maintain their tools and machines, and continue working to give students the best possible experience.
Even small gifts make a big difference. Did you know just $140 fully covers registration for a new LEGO League Explore team? Every dollar helps us inspire more students, keep our FRC program strong, and expand opportunities for kids, families, and our community.
Please consider donating and sharing our campaign. With your help, we can keep STEM growing in Southington and beyond! If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, contact us.
