Help the Cronulla Riots Hero

11 December 2005, the date will be remembered as the day of the Cronulla Riots !
For many people, it’s the day Craig Campbell became a hero. I’m pretty positive he doesn’t like that term but I’d be sure there are many that do.
It was during the Cronulla riots, nearly 14 years ago that he dispersed a crowd that was beating up two young men on a carriage at the train station.
Since then, Craig’s life has had many ups and downs. Leaving the NSWPF suffering PTSD would have been hard. Not having adequate ‘retirement’ or pension to live a life he was used to makes things even harder.
I worked with Graig for years at Miranda / Kogarah in the 1990’s and frankly even today I think he’d give you his last dollar if you needed it. I personally found him supportive and one hell of a street cop.
Many stories follow this guy but before the riots he and I (mostly he) cleared a house party of 300+ drunken teens after the screams of a colleague was heard via VKG. We drove, breakneck, from Kogarah to Woolooware to be the first car off ... and then it was sorted - Craig and that baton (Milo) sorted it out !
Members of the public came up to Craig and thanked him for restoring order.
In short, let’s put any political stances aside and help with a fellow Brother in Blue that has found him self on harder times.
Every, and I mean every, cent donated will be forward to Craig. The fact that he’s got to sell personal possession to live isn’t on and I’m sure police far and wide would donate if they knew his current plight !
I know many police officer current and retired that are aware of his situation and would love to help ! Well, this is that chance!
Craig is unaware of the campaign and I never asked him ... one way or another I thought he deserved the support.
