We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has donated. We are truly grateful and blessed to have all this support and generosity in this time of need.
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
On November 18th, around 2 PM, our lives were unexpectedly disrupted when a fire broke out in the laundry room of the apartment above us. While thankfully no one was injured, the aftermath has left us struggling to recover. The fire caused significant water damage to our first-floor apartment, destroying personal belongings and leaving us with smoke damage that has impacted our home.
My husband, our 6 week old newborn son, our dog, and I are currently doing our best to navigate this challenging time. We are currently on parental leave from work and we are relying on one income at the moment. Unfortunately, the damage from the fire destroyed personal items, such as our computer, tools, vacuum, baby items including formula, pillows, blankets, and diapers. We also lost all of our food as they had to immediately cut the power to our apartment. They had to relocate us twice as the first unit they provided us with was infested with bugs, so we had unexpected moving expenses such as a moving truck, movers and storage totes to quickly get our items out of both units.
We reached out to our renters’ insurance, only to learn they do not cover personal items damaged in this situation, leaving us financially responsible for replacing these items—an expense we did not anticipate.
We are humbly asking for your assistance in helping us recover from this hardship. Your generosity will go directly toward replacing the items we’ve lost and ensuring our home is safe and livable again for our family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story. We deeply appreciate any amount of support you can offer, whether through a donation or by sharing this page with others.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Crespo family
