Life sure has given the Cornelius family quite a roller coaster the last few years, and more recently the last few weeks. We are in desperate need of help to save our home.
We never thought we'd been in a nightmare such as this, but it's happening. Karen's parents, the very ones who helped us get in our home, now see dollar signs and are trying to sell it. They are trying to give us notice to move out, but this is our home and the original deal was we pay them back the down payment (which we have paid already towards) qualify with a lender to take over the mortgage (which we are in process of getting approval of in a mere day or two) and we are ready to have them transfer (gift) title to us. This agreement is an actual court document. They are not honoring our right to do this, because now they just want all the equity in the house, and want to sell it and give us nothing. How any parent could be so cold to take their child's home away from them when we have made every single mortgage payment, made all the improvements, fixed any issues (well, septic, etc.). This is the home we put our sweat and tears into. The home we raised our son in. The home we are not going to lose.
We have hired a lawyer and have a judgement filed with the court. We have a few other things in place to prevent our home from being sold, but all this is becoming overwhelmingly expensive with lawyer fees, loss of work to address all this, not to mention stressful, and not knowing how drawn out it will be. It is having an impact on every aspect of our lives, as many of you who have been there with us along the way have been affected too.
Then to have her show up to the house demanding we let her in and show the house to realtors! We have every right to be in our home. They are going about this illegally, not to mention the constant harassments, manipulation, nasty texts, calls and emails.
Any help of any kind is greatly appreciated. We are grateful to have friends to look to for help. Not just money, but a listening ear, a helping hand, or a prayer. With your help we can get through this and one day have it behind us.
Thank you,
God Bless!
