Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,

We’re the Colon family, a hardworking family of six (plus our two sweet dogs). We’re reaching out with humble hearts because our home, the place where we’ve started to build our life and memories, is in serious danger.

Recently, we discovered that our home’s foundation is sinking. The ground beneath it has shifted, causing major structural damage, cracked walls, uneven floors, and a collapsed drain pipe. After months of inspections, we learned the repairs are far beyond what we can handle alone.

To save our home, we need to:

• Dig two borings and complete geotechnical soil testing to find the root cause

• Have a structural engineer evaluate the home

• Lift and stabilize the foundation using 6 steel piers

• Replace and seal the sump pump system and collapsed drain pipe

• Repair and seal all cracks to prevent future damage

• Replace the backyard patio slab and restore landscaping.

The total cost is about $60,000 and heartbreakingly, insurance and FEMA are not covering any of it.

With only one income (my husband’s), and me recently out of work due to losing childcare, we’ve stretched every resource we have. We’ve applied for assistance, but so far, there’s been no relief. We’re doing everything we can but we can’t do this alone.

This home isn’t just a building to us. It’s where we’ve celebrated birthdays, prayed through storms, and tucked our children into bed each night. It’s our safe place and right now, it’s slipping away.
