Help the Collings-Weisbrot family after tragedy

Donation protected
Hello community! We are some of the Collings-Weisbrots chosen family organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our loves Elizabeth, Priscilla and Frankie. In the early morning hours of January 22nd, a violent windstorm uprooted multiple 100ft+ trees and crashed them into the Collings-Weisbrots beloved home. The family has been renting their beautiful place for years, and it is the place their daughter was born and raised in. The family is now displaced and in real need of our help.

On the night of this severe accident, Elizbeth and Priscilla were awakened to the sound of the windstorm—when they went to see where the noise was coming from, two giant trees feel directly on top of the home, partially destroying the home. Both trees burst through the front windows, knocking Priscilla in the head, causing her to bleed and require significant medical attention, including a CT scan to make sure she was not more permanently harmed (after receiving a medical evaluation she will likely not face any permanent physical damage). Elizabeth is also banged up, but was not as physically harmed as Priscilla. Frankie, their two-year-old daughter, was miraculously unscathed by the accident.

These trees destroyed large portions of their home, personal property and family possessions. The family now faces the disheartening prospect of assessing the destruction of years treasured possessions and attempting to recuperate their belongs, while also enduring the emotional side effects of experiencing an intense and surprising trauma. Right now, they need direct financial support to get back on their feet, and we are asking the community to pitch in as able.

Truly every dollar counts, and we ask that you share this with your networks, friends, family and anyone else that may be able to help. We all know during these isolating and trying times, community is everything.

Your generous donations will enable the family to:

1. Provide both Elizabeth and Priscilla with a version of emergency medical leave, so that they can take two weeks off of work as they regain their footing following such a traumatizing experience. Both Elizabeth and Priscilla work for themselves, and do not have any type of leave of absence available to them.

2. Provide them the ability to rent an Airbnb or hotel, as their home will take a number of months to be appropriate for living again.

3. Ensure they can recover some of the clothing, furniture, children toys, kitchenware, and appliances destroyed by the crash.

4. Provide a safety fund for any future costs that they might endure while they recover from this tragedy.

We thank you for your love and support and please stay safe.

Sincerely,

Sara, Rachel, Jeana and Mia
