Help The Collazo's!

It is with a heavy heart that we write this message on behalf of the Collazo family!

 

The Collazo family was impacted by COVID, it immediately affected Maidelys, mother of 2 boys (Nando & Daniel) and wife to Luis Collazo.

 

A few days after testing positive, Maidelys started having trouble breathing which led Luis to bring her into the Emergency Room, Saturday, Jan. 1st, to Muhlenberg hospital in Bethlehem, PA.  We seemed hopeful because her vitals looked stable while they were examining her condition with double oxygen and medications.

 

However, her vitals were slowly declining. We learned she had pneumonia and her x-ray showed both lungs completely covered by COVID.  The doctors were hopeful that the medications and double oxygen would start alleviating her lungs and get her oxygen level to a healthy standard. However, her oxygen levels were not picking up and her organs were not getting the oxygen they needed and so they progressed to intubate her and put her on a ventilator. After a stable day, her body’s oxygen started to slowly decline, and her recovery was not improving. At 3 am, Tuesday morning, Jan. 4th, the doctors were forced to put Maidelys in an induced coma to help the body heal.

 

Luis, Nando, and Daniel are currently battling covid themselves in their home and have not been well with all of the stress added due to Maidely’s current state. Their family has been organizing meals and grocery drops off since this all started, to ease the burden as they are recovering.

 

Today they need our help to get through this difficult situation. They are financially burdened, with their house currently in the process of foreclosure and both parents unable to work. They are in dire need of assistance, please consider helping to alleviate the financial burden during these uncertain times.
