Help The Collada Family get back on the road
On March 28, 2025 my husband and my oldest daughter suffered a car accident on I-91 south, where the Target in Windsor is located, going down the ramp entering the highway. She suffered injuries: sprained ankle, strained cervix, and a concussion. She had small pieces of glass from the shattered window in her eyes, that also caused minor cuts on her eyelids. She has markings on her neck from where the seat belt had tightened and broke off from the impact. Her bookbag strap broke off from her hands, flying out the car window that had shattered. Her laptop was in the bookbag and unfortunately, it broke too. Her pens had exploded and so did her hand sanitizer bottle of how bad the crash was. She lost her glasses as well. My husband's left side was numbed and in the hospital he couldn't move his legs, which was very worrisome at the time. He's pretty beat up as well with a few bruises but thankful to be alive. This all happened literally 2 days before my oldest duaghter's birthday. Not exactly what she was wanting as a birthda present.
I thank God, as bad as it looked, God was definetly with them. I thank the people who were in obedience to God's call and rushed to the scene. I thank the truck driver who stopped and immediatley ran to them, calling 911. I thank the doctor and the off duty EMT who rushed to their first aid. And the nurse who flushed out the pieces of glass and debris from my daughter's eyes. I am thankful that someone prayed!! Thankful that some one decreed and declared a thing that established their returning home safe and sound.
Our car is the only means of transportatin we have and it's now gone.
The car transported our oldest daughter to her college up in Massachusetts, to her clinicals, and back home. It also transported her brother, who is a Junior, to school and back. Additionally, transported me from work and back, being the only income entering our home. It also transorted us to church and back. We don't want our oldest daughter to loose her semester as she is on a full scholarship. So, I'm asking anyone with anything to please donate to help us Colladas to get back on the road. We desperately need a car as a scholarship, school, and a job is at risk. Any amount, we would be beyond grateful.
UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who has donated thus far, whether it was donating money or coming through with rides or simply consistently checking up on us to see if there was anything we needed. Our oldest got to finish her semester and is doing much better now. My husband has nerve damage and still receiving treatment. Please keep sharing so we can meet our goal.
