Help the Coffee Cowboy Relocate

Donation protected
Dear Coffee Cowboy patrons, Telluride community and beyond,

As many of you know, our beloved business, The Coffee Cowboy, has to move locations. For the last 12 years, we have proudly served Telluride as a Main Street staple. But alas, the time has come; the land beneath the cart is being developed.

We (Hailey & Scott) bought this successful business about one and a half years ago. Upon purchase, we knew a move was in our future; we just did not know it would come this soon. After nearly a year of searching, scheming, meeting and planning, we are proud to announce that The Coffee Cowboy is relocating to the Oak Street Gondola Plaza. Thanks to a wonderful collaboration with the Town of Mountain Village, we will be nestled next to the Gondola barn, just steps from chair 8.

After hearing of the proposed land development of our Main Street location, we began to dive into our new game plan for Summer 2022 - a brick-and-mortar location. However, that fell through. Unsure of what to do next, we rehatched an old idea and this time, it worked. Although this is all quite bittersweet - the end of an era, if you will - in just three months, we have crafted a secure new plan and are so excited for this next chapter for The Coffee Cowboy

This new chapter also brings construction costs that are blowin’ the lid off the kettle as contractors are busier than a buck in a rut. Even though we’ve been stuffin’ cash into our mattresses ever since we bought the place, it just isn't enough to cover this big bill. It came quicker and more expensive than expected. With our savings, we are only one-third the way there.

We are coming up with multiple funding sources (bank loans, etc.), and after being encouraged to try crowdfunding, we are giving it a whirl. So here we go.

Our ask: to crowdfund $25,000 to assist with this development.

Though we wish that we could just roll the cart to the base of the G and start serving coffee, that is not the reality. The Cowboy requires a fair bit of infrastructure to keep up with the high demand for beverages, burritos & other goods. In the hopes of being transparent and honest about our needs, the infrastructure requirements are as follows:

Electrical framework: $37,000
Plumbing: $8,000
Water heater: $500
Plaza pavement/concrete Work: $5,000
Plaza Expansion (Fall 2022): $30,000
Dry Storage Room: $8,000

Total: $88,500

This page will be live for donations of any size, a tin cup out in the world. Your contribution to this long-standing Telluride business will aid in keeping the spirit and funk alive in the Telluride Valley.

Go Fund Me does receive a portion of the funds so if your dollar amount exceeds $500 and you have the ability to write the Cowboy a personal check, more of your money will be going straight to the cause.

Thanks for believing in us y’all; we are committed to serving the Telluride & Mountain Village communities for years to come.

Love, Cowboy Scott & Cowgirl Hails
