Swayzee Kate was born December 16th, the sixth and highly anticipated addition to the Claudel family! During routine newborn screening, something unexpected came up which led to additional testing completed by Boston Children's Hospital. She was diagnosed with SCID, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, a rare genetic disorder that makes it difficult for the body to fight infection. This is a potentially life-threatening condition without intervention.

The good news is there is a cure for this diagnosis and Nick and Brooke will be looking at her getting a transplant in the near future. Swayzee and Brooke have already spent a few weeks at Boston Children's Hospital while Nick is continuing to work and keep things running as normally as possible back at home.

They have a long road ahead of them but they are tough! The goal of this GoFundMe is to help take one less stress off of their plates as they make many trips back and forth to Boston and continue to raise five additional amazing kids.
