The Cisler family could really use your help right now.
Last summer, an incidental finding from a hospital visit led to James’ diagnosis of solitary bone plasmacytoma (rare blood cancer). In December, James, Karla, Eisen and Kian celebrated the final radiation session at the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute.
Since that final session, James has had many medical complications and infusions.
Unfortunately, this summer brought two more rounds of bad news for the family.
After working for 10 years at the University of Oregon in dining services, James was let go from his job leaving Karla as the sole income earner.
And just this week, after James experienced increasing unexplained pain, the family was dealt with more bad news from James’ most recent PET scan showing aggressive cancer spread.
James and Karla are parents who not only work full-time outside of the house, they also homeschool their two sons.
The upcoming childcare, transportation and financial obligations are many. Let’s show them what community means.
They can use your support as James fights high-risk Multiple Myeloma. The upcoming months will be filled tackling yet another bone marrow and tumor biopsy. This will be followed by induction chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant up at OHSU.
On behalf of the Cisler family, thank you for any support you can show!
