Help the Chorus Find Our Voice (Support My Trans Journey)

Story

Hey. Glad you're here. Let me introduce myself. At the time of this intro, I'm a 46 y.o. living in the greater Houston, TX area. That means I am a deeply liberal queer person hiding in plain sight in a conservative mess. In fact, after the 2024 election, I have had neighbors threatening to unalive trans folks in our community because conservative rhetoric equates trans to pedophilia. I've been on HRT to medically transition for 2.5 years. I have recently come out to close friends and family. Despite the political climate, I intend to continue. I also have some medical and neurodivergent issues to navigate, so it's a bit overwhelming. The problem is, with the state of our nation and the politics of Texas, it is financially prohibitive for me to transition here, so I need a little (lot of) help. Which brings me here, hat in hand. No, I can't move somewhere else; my career is uniquely Texas-bound, and I want to help other trans folx here who are less fortunate. I'm also setting up a non-profit to do so, but I want to lead the way and be an example without dipping into my own charity. Yes, I have insurance, but most of the things I would like to do are considered cosmetic. I've come as far as I can medically/chemically, it's time to go under a knife. This is a marathon, not a sprint; I don't expect a lot of donations, but I'm going to do what I can. I am starting this before my birthday and hoping for the best. Thanks for reading, I hope to see you amongst the donor list.
