We are a group of volunteers working with the children of Sunrise Educare Center in Capricorn, Cape Town (South Africa).

Since arriving here, we’ve absolutely fallen in love with the children—their robust energy, their laughter, and their everyday optimism despite many of them coming from challenging backgrounds. However, we find that there is still an evident lack of resources to support the children we take care of at Sunrise Educare Center— a lack of nutritious food in the kitchen, limited access to classroom supplies for hands-on learning and play, and poor building framework. These challenges are a result of the difficulties that the whole community living in the township face, including poverty, income inequality, and poor infrastructure. We believe in the potential of this center in giving these young and bright souls the educational opportunities that they deserve amidst the hurdles that they are confronted with, and would therefore like to raise funds to support them with essential resources in their classrooms. With your help, we plan to raise a total sum for them by 30 June 2025.
