My name is Marissa Stine and I am raising money to help with the unexpected costs of medical bills for a colleague and friend's daughter.

The Cermak family has had a life-altering freak accident shift their lives since Halloween. Their oldest child, Freedom, a sophomore in high school, hit the back of her head while out at a restaurant, and from that moment on, the past 6 weeks have been completely different. This simple hit to the head has caused a severe concussion that has led to vomiting, near fainting, blacking out, double and triple vision, numbness down her extremities, the inability to walk, and a never-ending migraine. Due to the number of appointments to try and find an answer to it all, both of her parents have been taking turns leaving work to help her at home.

As you could imagine, this is a painful and difficult time for them all as they try to find an answer. She has gone through multiple tests and doctor’s appointments, with more to come, because there hasn’t been an explanation for everything she has been enduring beyond post-concussion syndrome.

As the Cermak family continues to help her and get her to different neurological specialists and facilities, the weight of it all is beginning to increase as each day passes.
