We have found a piece of land where we can build a private sanctuary for our permanent cats, but this project is extremely urgent.

The municipal building where our cat shelter is currently located is about to be demolished. Construction work has already reached the walls of the shelter, and to this day the local council has offered no alternative location, no suitable facilities, and no financial support.

The space is no longer safe for the cats. We must act now.

Our goal is to relocate all the cats to a new, safe sanctuary as quickly as possible.

SOS Animales Tarifa will continue to exist as an association, but from now on we will focus exclusively on the care and long-term wellbeing of our permanent cats—some of whom have been with us for up to eight years—and on continuing our collaboration with the CER (Trap–Neuter–Return) program for local feral cat colonies.

Due to limited resources, we will not be able to take in new cases.

Time is working against us. We urgently need to gather the materials and begin construction of this new space. That’s why we are launching this appeal today.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to a safe, stable, and dignified home for them.

Hemos encontrado un terreno donde poder construir un santuario privado para nuestros gatos permanentes. Este proyecto es urgente, ya que el edificio municipal donde se encuentra actualmente el refugio de gatos va a ser demolido. Las obras ya han llegado hasta las paredes del refugio y, a día de hoy, el Ayuntamiento no nos ha ofrecido ninguna alternativa con instalaciones adecuadas ni ningún tipo de ayuda económica.

El lugar ya no es seguro para los gatos, por lo que debemos actuar de inmediato.

Vamos a trasladar a todos los gatos al nuevo santuario.

SOS Animales Tarifa seguirá existiendo como asociación, pero a partir de ahora nos centraremos exclusivamente en el cuidado y mantenimiento de nuestros gatos permanentes —algunos llevan con nosotros hasta ocho años— y en seguir colaborando con el programa CER de esterilización y control de las colonias felinas de la pedanía. No asumiremos nuevos casos.

Tenemos muy poco tiempo para reunir el material necesario y empezar la construcción del nuevo espacio. Por eso lanzamos este llamamiento: necesitamos ayuda y donaciones para poder empezar ya.

Cada aportación, por pequeña que sea, nos acerca a un lugar seguro, digno y estable para ellos.

Wir haben ein Grundstück gefunden, auf dem wir ein privates Schutz- und Zufluchtszentrum für unsere dauerhaft bei uns lebenden Katzen errichten können. Dieses Projekt ist sehr dringend, da das kommunale Gebäude, in dem sich das Katzenrefugium derzeit befindet, abgerissen werden soll. Die Bauarbeiten haben bereits die Wände des Refugiums erreicht, und bis heute hat uns die Gemeinde keine Alternative mit geeigneten Einrichtungen und keinerlei finanzielle Unterstützung angeboten.

Der Ort ist für die Katzen nicht mehr sicher, daher müssen wir sofort handeln.

Wir werden alle Katzen in das neue Schutzgebiet umsiedeln.

SOS Animales Tarifa wird weiterhin als Verein bestehen, doch ab sofort konzentrieren wir uns ausschließlich auf die Pflege und Versorgung unserer festen Katzen – einige von ihnen leben bereits seit bis zu acht Jahren bei uns – sowie auf die weitere Zusammenarbeit mit dem CER-Programm (Kastration, Sterilisation und Kontrolle) der örtlichen Katzenkolonien. Neue Fälle können wir nicht mehr aufnehmen.

Wir haben nur sehr wenig Zeit, um die notwendigen Materialien zu beschaffen und mit dem Bau des neuen Geländes zu beginnen. Deshalb starten wir diesen Aufruf: Wir benötigen dringend Hilfe und Spenden, um sofort beginnen zu können.

Jeder Beitrag, so klein er auch sein mag, bringt uns einem sicheren, würdevollen und stabilen Zuhause für die Katzen näher.
