Hello, Everyone.

Our family has recently been the victim of extremely traumatic events, and we are asking for your help. Over the weekend, an individual (who was once considered a friend) intentionally drove his vehicle into our home, crashing into my son's room while he and two others were there sleeping. After the crash through the bricked wall, the driver picked up one of the fallen bricks and threw it at my son, hitting him in the chest. The driver ran, but thankfully was detained shortly after emergency services were called.

The entire scene was surreal: Hearing the kids yelling and running down the hall saying that a car hit the house. Seeing the youngest friend drenched in what I would later learn were fluids from the engine, (he was underneath the car as it came through the window.) Seeing the car halfway into the room, bricks and debris everywhere. As I described the situation to 911, it felt as though I were still asleep, that this was just a strange nightmare.

But, miraculously, everyone was alive. There are some physical injuries, but they were all safe. As the car was towed out of the house, and I was talking with my husband on the phone (he is currently deployed with the Air Force), he and I found ourselves just being incredibly thankful that this hadn't been worse.

Then, we were told that the driver was someone we knew. Someone who used to be a friend had done something this malicious to our family. The fear and heartbreak that this has caused all of us, especially my son, is overwhelming. The mental weight of everything that happened is still adding up.

We are asking for your help. We don't know what the extent of the medical and counseling costs will be, or how much insurance will cover for the destruction. Any amount that you could donate would be a blessing, but we know that times are difficult everywhere and simply sharing this message with others is helpful. We appreciate whatever way you may be able to help us through this.
