Please help our friend Brian and his family as Brian fights through his third bout of cancer. The money raised will help Heather, Haiden and Brian to pay bills, travel to and from Vancouver and allow Heather the much needed time off work to support her husband and son through this time.
In the summer of 2012 Brian was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. He had a mass removed and all bloodwork came back clear. When he had a follow up test in December 2012, it showed cancer markers again. He was sent for Chemo immediately for 8 hours a day, one week on, one week off. On February 14th, Brian had his last treatment, his bloodwork was clean and he was officially in remission.
This past month Brian was suffering with some health issues that were not getting better with medication as the Doctor expected. He had been given a blood requisition the month before as a precaution to monitor for Cancer markers. Since he wasn't feeling well, Heather took him in to get the bloodwork done. Later that day he was called and told to go straight to emergency as his tests were "abnormal". After further testing, he was told he was severely Anemic and needed a blood transfusion and further testing. The results came back with a blow of Leukemia.
Brian was immediately sent to Vancouver General to begin 6 months of treatment. Heather and Haiden will need to be in Vancouver with Brian for 2 months as he will be an outpatient and will need to be cared for in after his treatments. Approximately one month in, Brian will need a bone marrow transplant but this will all require Heather to take time off of work. She has recently started a new job with the Hospice Thrift Stores and has not yet worked enough hours to access medical funding for time off. This was very unexpected and with Christmas coming, funds are already tight.
Please help the Caron family if you can, any bit will help. Brian is an amazing man that would actually give the shirt off his back if he knew someone needed it more. We want to repay that to them in their time of need.
Thank you.
