My name is Kali Hunter and on October 9th, Hurricane Milton caused lots of damage in our hometown of Lakeland, Florida. My friend Jamie’s family unfortunately suffered a significant loss. While her husband Mike worked on shift as a police officer for Lakeland, Jamie was at their home with their children. Their entire downstairs flooded, and they lost everything that was down there.

This was already devastating enough, but then they found out that insurance is calling this a “flood,” so it will not be covered. This puts a huge financial strain on Jamie and Mike, who already have 6 children and now have to navigate redoing their entire downstairs, replacing items lost, and other essentials.

Prayers that God will continue to provide strength and peace during this time and that Jamie and Mike, as well as the kids, continue to look for God's blessings in the coming weeks and months instead of focusing on what they have lost.
