Patrick and Linda Carder have always opened their hearts and home to family, including adopting and raising their young nephew Justin Dalton, who is still in elementary school. Their home was a place of love and support for not only Justin, but also for Jerry Dalton and my son, Christopher Thibodeaux. Tragically, a fire destroyed everything they owned, and to make matters worse, they did not have insurance on the home. The loss was even more devastating as they also lost their two dogs and a cat in the fire, who were cherished members of the family.

Right now, everyone is staying with my sister, but they are starting over with nothing. My dad, Patrick, is diabetic and unable to walk, so his needs are especially urgent. The funds raised will help them with temporary housing, clothing, basic necessities, and getting settled into a new place. Being far away in Georgia, I can’t be there in person, but I want to do everything I can to help them rebuild their lives.

Any support would mean the world to us. This has been devastating, and normally we wouldn’t ask for help, but right now, every bit of kindness and generosity will make a real difference for my family as they try to recover from this tragedy.
