Help the Cape family beat cancer!

Our friend, Sherry Cape, is a loving mother of three (Caroline, Victoria, and Cutler), and wife to Cliff. She is also a very loyal and dear friend to many. This past November, Sherry began having unusual pains in her back and sternum. After several trips to the doctor, as well as doing physical therapy for over a month, the pain was not getting any better. The doctor then scheduled an ultrasound in February. The results showed something that they were “concerned” about, so they immediately scheduled an MRI. The MRI results confirmed that she had a large tumor growing on the tail of her pancreas. Next, a biopsy was performed, which confirmed a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

 

Sherry began chemotherapy immediately. She and Cliff have continued to meet with oncologists, as well as several different surgeons, to plan treatment. Unfortunately, at this time, the tumor is deemed inoperable because it is attached to a main artery. For now, chemotherapy is the only viable treatment, with hopes that the tumor will shrink and allow for radiation and/or surgery at some point. 

 

As you can imagine, their world has been turned upside down over the past few months. This time has been heartbreaking, scary, and overwhelming, to say the least; but Sherry is strong and optimistic. On top of all of this, Sherry lost her mother on March 17th.  She relies heavily on her faith. She is ready to beat this cancer! In order to do so, she will need the best possible treatment options available. The medical costs are accumulating swiftly and there will be more to come. Anything you can donate to help manage the financial burdens accompanying her battle fighting cancer is greatly appreciated. Specifically, please pray for Sherry’s team of doctors, for her complete healing, and pray that she continues being a strong mother and the glue for her family. In addition, please pray for Cliff as he continues to be a rock and lead his family. For Caroline as she begins her 1st year of college. For Victoria as she enters her senior year of high school. And for Cutler as he enters 4th grade. We know we serve an awesome and miracle-working God!
