My name is Tarshae Johnson Cannon.

July 7th, 2025, changed my family's whole life as we were not expecting the unimaginable. My husband, Eldred Cannon, who was a loving father, amazing husband, and mentor to so many youths in his community, passed away during a simple surgical procedure.

He served 20 years as a correctional officer at the Department of Juvenile Justice. While there, he tried to encourage and change the path of our young ones as they transitioned into young adult men and women amongst the community. Eldred always wanted to be of service to others. He later stepped into the field of substance abuse and provided help for those trying to gain their lives back and overcome the barriers of addiction.

But like so many of us, we don't take time to sort things out in our personal lives. He leaves behind 8 children and a wife. We were not prepared for his unexpected passing. So we are asking for help for end-of-life matters such as funeral arrangements and burial. Please just give what you can. We thank you for all your love and support.
