After his fierce battle, on October 28th, 2020, Peter Schriber succumbed to Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma.
After suffering for months, Peter finally received this PTCL diagnosis in parallel to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. He had been diligently fighting ever since.
When you hear some speak of having lymphoma, they are typically talking about some form of a B-cell lymphoma. What Peter has is a rare and aggressive form of T-cell lymphoma that oncologists lump together with a bunch of other rare T-Cell lymphomas under a cancer umbrella called PTCL. Unfortunately, while they were busy trying to figure out what was wrong with Peter, the lymphoma broke the blood/brain barrier and spread to his central nervous system as well. By the end, it had moved into his lungs.
Peter had been hospitalized more than 50 days since August. Christina was commuting to Philadelphia and then NYC to care for him daily. Both Peter and Christina had to take a leave of absence from their jobs to focus on battling Peter’s PTCL. Between the cost of oncology care, commuting and unexpected hotel stays, the Schriber’s bills are beginning to become intimidating.
Any help you could give will go a long way to provide Christina the peace of mind she needs to grieve the loss of her husband and best friend. In her words,
“This journey was hard....
All I saw was you my love. Looking past the pain and the fear there was something bigger and more intimate and indescribable and terrifyingly brilliant.
You fought so hard.”
