Help the Campbells with emergency needs
At midnight on July 17, Jeremy, Becky, Kyla, Madisyn, and Jacob Campbell lost every earthly possession they own in a devastating fire that destroyed their home. Thankfully, no one was hurt, although their beloved cat Tigger is still missing. The Campbells are a hard-working family that always has an open door for anyone who needs it. Like many others, their financial security is impacted by the pandemic, and they were just starting to recover as the world begins to open up. The five of them literally only have the clothes on their back, and they require basic needs like clothes, toiletries, and technology to get through this difficult and heartbreaking time.
Becky is my sister, and she is the strongest woman I have ever met. In a strange twist of fate, we lost our family home to a fire when she was Jacob's age (14).
If you are able to contribute to this emergency fund, it would be so greatly appreciated. If you are not able to at this time, please offer your prayers to this family, and the three other families who also lost their homes last night.
Thank you to the several members of the Calgary Fire Department who responded for their bravery and compassion.
