Support the Burnside Family During Melvin’s Recovery

This week, the Burnside family faced an unimaginable, life-or-death situation. Melvin was at work when he began experiencing alarming symptoms—what he thought might be a heart attack or stroke. After rushing to the emergency room, he was diagnosed with an aortic dissection, a rare and life-threatening condition where the inner layer of the aorta tears and separates from the vessel wall.

It was such a complex case that finding a surgeon capable of performing the needed operation was a challenge. But through God’s grace and guidance, Melvin was transported to Shands Hospital, where a skilled team of surgeons worked through the night to repair the damage and save his life.

Melvin and his wife, Mari, are the loving parents of two beautiful daughters who adore their dad. While the family rejoices in God’s mercy and Melvin’s survival, the road ahead is long. His recovery will require time, rest, and ongoing medical care. The Burnside family now faces unexpected medical expenses, travel costs, and months away from work.
