Help the Burke Family: Support for Suzanne

In June of 2012, our dad, Christopher suffered a massive stroke. The doctors told us that he only had a few hours left to live. By the grace of God they were able to perform a surgery that ended up saving his life. Now, years later, he is still fighting strong. He is now able to walk, with the help of a cane and a brace, and can even do some house and yard work. His gracious and selfless wife, Suzanne acted as his support and his caretaker to this day.

*On September 1, of this year, my mom, Suzanne went into the hospital. Very quickly they located a large mass that they believed was cancerous. After weeks of waiting for biopsy results, they informed us that the mass was cancerous but they found that it was not the local point of the cancer. They ran more tests and quickly found that she had stage 4 colon cancer. For a while we were hopeful, but on the 28th of September, we were informed that this cancer was terminal. The cancer was too aggressive, was spreading, and was shutting down other organs. As per her wishes, she returned home on the 29th of September with hospice care. Together with our family and the hospice team we will be working to make her last days as comfortable in her home as they can be.

She is such a special woman and from talking with so many of you, I know that she has touched so many of your lives as well. There is no better example of a loving and self-sacrificing mother. As her life comes to an end we are aware of the unfortunate expense of medical expenses as well as arrangements in order to honor her. We would never expect anything, but appreciate anything that you are able to contribute to help us during this time.
