On January 23rd, in the middle of a snowstorm, the Brown family’s Southwood Square townhome was destroyed by a devastating fire. Within minutes, Lashayla Brown and her three children lost everything — their clothes, furniture, beds, school supplies, personal belongings, and all the memories they had built over four years. Thanks to the quick thinking of 6-year-old Zhyon, who had just learned about fire safety at Roxbury Elementary, he was able to lead his mother and sisters safely out of the home before it was too late. While the family is beyond grateful to be alive, they are now starting over from nothing. Every donation will help them rebuild their lives and replace the essentials they lost.
Stamford has always shown up for its own. This family lost everything in a matter of minutes, and now it’s our turn to show them they’re not rebuilding alone. If you’re able to give, any amount truly helps. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser can make all the difference. When our community comes together, we make the impossible feel possible. Let’s help this family start again.
