Hi friends, family, and kind‑hearted strangers,
On April 19, 2025, the Brown’s were at a family reunion in St.George when things took an unexpected turn. While playing with his kids, nieces and nephews, Peter suddenly became extremely dizzy, laid down to rest and was unable to get up without vomiting. A trip to the ER revealed Peter had an ischemic stroke in the left side of his cerebellum, triggered by a vertebral artery dissection—a tiny tear in a neck vessel that formed a clot and blocked blood flow.
Why We’re Reaching Out
- Peter is just 31 and normally supplies half of the Browns’ income.
- One week before the stroke, he was laid off, and the family’s health insurance coverage ended.
- Physically, Peter is already looking stronger—his balance is improving, the dizziness is easing each day, and he’s feeling good walking short distances. Although he appears fine on the outside, even small tasks cause significant brain fatigue, and when he stands or moves too quickly, he experiences motion sickness, almost like a swaying sensation, as his stroke affected the part of his brain in charge of balance and coordination. Mentally, he’s still very much in recovery and needs plenty of rest to allow his brain to heal.
- Intense activity is on pause while Peter focuses on recovery.
- Ana is now the sole earner for their three young children, managing the household and helping Peter take things slow.
How Your Gift Will Help
Every contribution will go straight to essential needs while Peter regains his strength:
- Out-of-pocket ER and hospital bills
- Out-of-pocket prescription costs and follow‑up doctor and specialist appointments
- Groceries, mortgage, utilities, and everyday expenses for a family of five
Peter and Ana are hopeful that he’ll be able to return to full-time work as soon as his body allows, so they can begin tackling the mounting medical bills.
