My name is Destiny, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my mother, Almissa Brockett, and our family after the home we rented in Greenville, North Carolina was destroyed in a fire. We had lived in that house for 14 years, and it was a total loss. We lost our picture and memories. Clothes, furniture, important belongings can be replaced but the everyday things that made it home are gone.
We are not rebuilding the house because we were renters, but we are now trying to find a new place to live while paying for a hotel and other immediate needs. My mother is a hard-working woman, and it breaks my heart to see her having to go through something like this.
My little brother, Cristin “CJ” Spruill, is only 16 years old and helped save everyone during the fire. He suffered burns to both arms, both hands, and his leg. He has already had surgery and received three skin grafts. We are beyond thankful to God that he is alive and recovering, and that we still have each other.
Right now, donations will help our family with hotel costs, a security deposit and rent for a new home, clothing, food, transportation, basic necessities, and support while CJ recovers.
I’m not normally the type to ask the internet for help, but we truly need a little help getting through this and starting over. Any amount, prayer, or share means more than we can say. Thank you for supporting our family during this difficult time.
