Help the Brevik Clan Cover Dad's Cancer Treatment

Hello. My name is Lori Brevik. My family and I are starting a medical fundraiser for Arndt, my husband of more than 35 years, and the beloved father of our 3 sons.

Following a sudden onset of severe and frightening symptoms in late January that led to numerous referrals, tests, and analyses, we were informed last week that Arndt has been diagnosed with cancer. Specifically, his diagnosis is aggressive malignant neoplasia; esophageal adenocarcinoma. He is beginning many weeks of chemotherapy and radiation immediately, which will be followed by surgery, once it has been determined that it is safe.

As hard as it is to write these words, we are watching Arndt go from being an incredibly strong, vibrant, healthy man who loves playing guitar, spending time with his family, and enjoying outdoor activities, to becoming increasingly limited and weakened by this devastating cancer.

His cancer is aggressive and growing, although with the right sequence of treatments and surgery, we are told the survivability rate is hopeful. However, the treatments and associated needs, while often effective, are equally aggressive and expensive, and are not fully covered by insurance.

For this reason, we are asking for donations of any type or amount to help with these mounting expenses. Please, if you can spare anything, it will make a world of difference in our ability to, as our lead oncologist said, "move quickly," as we must.

We are finding the need to reach out for help so that we can have a solid shot at continuing these potentially life-saving treatments. We are so grateful to have a community of supportive friends and loved ones to allow us to be comfortable in asking for such donations.
