Help the Brennans Rebuild After Larksville, PA, House Fire

On Jan. 25, 2026, during a heavy snowstorm in Larksville, PA, our parents, Sue and Ed Brennan, experienced a life‑altering tragedy when a fire broke out at their home on Falcon Drive. The storm made conditions incredibly difficult, and firefighters arrived to find a frozen hydrant—but thanks to their quick thinking and determination, they were able to access water from another hydrant and work to control the flames. We are deeply thankful to every emergency responder who braved the elements to help.

Our parents, along with their dog Holly, made it out safely. Heartbreakingly, their beloved cat did not survive, and their beautiful green blue Amazon parrot is still missing. The emotional weight of this loss is something no family can prepare for.

This home held more than belongings — it held the life our family rebuilt together. Nearly 20 years ago, after catastrophic river flooding destroyed our family home in West Nanticoke, our parents moved us to Larksville to start over. They poured their hearts into creating a safe, warm, welcoming home once again. Losing that home now feels like reliving a nightmare none of us ever imagined having to experience twice.

Anyone who knows our parents knows how deeply they give to others.
Our mom, Sue, has worked in the mental health field for decades, dedicating her career to supporting individuals and families through some of their hardest moments. She’s also well‑known throughout the community for donating beautifully made baskets to countless local fundraisers, always eager to help others in need.

Our dad, Ed, gives just as generously, helping local elderly and disabled residents by providing maintenance support at a nearby housing development. He’s the person neighbors call when something needs fixing, and "Mr.-Fix-It" never hesitates to show up with his tools and a smile.

As five sisters, we’re doing everything we can to support our parents as they begin to process and rebuild after losing nearly everything. There are many immediate needs right now: clothing, food, temporary housing, and the everyday essentials that make it possible to move forward in the first days and weeks after a disaster.

Mom and dad have spent their entire lives helping others. Now, we are hoping our community can help them.

If you are able, please consider donating to help them get back on their feet. Every contribution — no matter the amount — will make a meaningful difference as they begin to rebuild their lives once again.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
